Psychiatric care for adults in Los Angeles.
Feel August is a California telehealth psychiatry practice with an address in Los Angeles. Care is delivered by video by default, so most patients in Los Angeles County are seen from home, usually sooner than they would be seen in a waiting room.
Next opening: Wednesday, 9:00 AM with Arthur. That is the live first-visit calendar, not an estimate.
Prescribing, stated plainly
What we will and will not prescribe.
Our clinicians are PMHNP-BCs with full California prescriptive authority, including Schedule II controlled substances. When ADHD is the diagnostic conclusion, stimulants are on the table.
We do not prescribe controlled substances on a first visit as a default rule. Our standard practice is to complete a thorough evaluation, review prior records where they exist, and start a controlled substance at a follow-up rather than on day one. Exceptions exist when the clinical picture clearly warrants it. Your clinician will explain the reasoning behind every prescribing decision, including a no.
We do not prescribe benzodiazepines for chronic anxiety. Refills are sent as a 30-day supply with enough refills to bridge to your next scheduled follow-up; controlled substances are never auto-refilled.
If you are looking for a same-day stimulant prescription, we are not the right practice, and we would rather you know that before you book than after.

How care runs
Sixty minutes first, then the same clinician every time.
Your first visit is a full hour, because a fifteen-minute intake cannot tell the difference between the diagnoses that matter. Follow-ups are twenty minutes, and they are with the person who did your evaluation. How it works →

Questions
Common questions from Los Angeles.
Can I be seen in person in Los Angeles?
714 W Olympic Blvd, #703 is our primary office and clinicians work from it Monday through Friday. That said, Feel August is a telehealth practice: care is delivered by video by default, and most patients never visit in person. If you specifically want to be seen at the office, say so when you book and we will tell you what is possible.
Do you prescribe ADHD medication in Los Angeles?
Yes, when ADHD is the diagnostic conclusion after a full evaluation. Our clinicians hold California prescriptive authority for Schedule II controlled substances. We do not prescribe stimulants on a first visit as a default rule: the standard is a thorough evaluation first, then a controlled substance at follow-up if it is indicated. We do not prescribe benzodiazepines for chronic anxiety.
Do you take my insurance in Los Angeles?
Our payer contracts are statewide, so they apply in Los Angeles exactly as they do elsewhere in California. We are in-network with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of California, Cigna, Optum, Oscar, and UnitedHealthcare. Kaiser is out-of-network; we can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. We verify your specific plan within 24 hours of booking and email you the result before your visit.
How soon can I be seen?
The booking calendar shows real first-visit availability, not an estimate, and it is the same calendar our clinicians work from. First visits are sixty minutes. Follow-ups are twenty minutes with the same clinician who did your evaluation.
What should I do if I am in crisis in Los Angeles County?
Feel August is an outpatient practice, not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. For urgent mental health support, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or call (800) 854-7771 for the LA County Department of Mental Health Help Line, which operates 24 hours a day.
