What to expect when you reach out
When you contact Feel August, a member of our care team responds personally — typically within one business day. We do not use call centers, automated phone trees, or chatbots for clinical inquiries. If your question is about scheduling, insurance, or what to expect from your first appointment, we are happy to walk you through it before you commit to anything.
If you are ready to schedule directly, you can book your first conversation online. The process takes about two minutes — a brief questionnaire, your insurance information, and a time that works for you. No payment is collected until your appointment.
Common questions
- Do I need a referral to schedule?
- No. Most insurance plans do not require a referral for outpatient psychiatric care. You can schedule directly through our website. If you are a clinician referring a patient, you can use our clinician referral form.
- What insurance do you accept?
- We are in-network with several major California insurance plans. You can check your coverage during the booking process or visit our insurance page for details. We also accept self-pay patients.
- Who are your providers?
- Our providers are board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) with specialized training in adult psychiatry. You can learn more on our providers page.
- Where do you see patients?
- All appointments are conducted via telehealth (secure video). We serve adults throughout the entire state of California — you can be seen from anywhere you have a private space and a reliable internet connection. You do not need to be near a specific office.
- What if I am in crisis?
- If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. You can also contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988, or text HOME to 741741 to reach the Crisis Text Line. Our practice provides outpatient care and is not equipped to manage emergencies.
